The last time I looked at my calendar it was a month ago. We’ve been so busy, it’s sort of like being on the Amtrak Acela 24/7 and watching your life out the window.
One thing that’s core to our company mission is the promise of both sustainability, and positive social impact. As we head into month ten post-launch, it’s become a focus for 2021 and beyond.
So what does that mean? We’re going to be doing some cool stuff, and we want your feedback on it. OSS has manufactured well over 100 Igloos and deployed them throughout Rhode Island and Massachusetts. But a question we have asked is “ When the client doesn’t feel they need their igloo any longer, what happens to it?”
That’s an excellent question. We’ve got a few solutions beginning with us reclaiming the Igloo, and ensuring it’s donated to a community initiative or non-profit. OSS Igloos make great greenhouses, BTW. When we decided to manufacture these for the Take it Outside campaign, we had already laid the groundwork for the ultimate life-cycle of our innovations. We will not, I repeat NOT, allow them to end up in the landfill.
Over the next few months we’re going to be working with the amazing team at GoViably to refine and perfect our sustainability certification. From our suppliers, to our manufacturing, to our customers – our goal as a team of innovators is to follow the campfire rule and ‘Leave the area in better condition than you found it’. We’re honored GoViably picked our startup to be a partner and will be releasing our Social Impact Report in the next coming weeks. I’d tell you about the other tech-cloud related things we’re up to, but we don’t want our competitors knowing too much in advance. Sorry guys!
Until next time, stay healthy and go support some small businesses. We’ve got you covered.
