I was out having lunch last week, at a popular Providence eatery, and struck up a conversation with our server, lets call her Jane. I was asking how business has been through my mask of course, to which she replied “It’s been great! But I don’t know what’s going to happen when we can only seat people indoors”.
Jane made an excellent point. Many RI restaurants have really been innovative when it comes to reimagining the dining experience. A perfect example of a place who gets it right every single time is Plant City. If you haven’t been yet, I’d go check it out. Although a few establishments may not survive to see the Fall, most have upped their game and RI’rs have been rallying to keep their favorite dishes coming out of the kitchens. We may be small, but apparently we have a huge appetite for the culinary scene in our home State.
The Boston Globe just ran a timely piece where several Restaurateurs are wondering ‘what’s next?’ when Fall arrives and outdoor seating becomes impossible. When profits are down and margins are slim it’s time to think creatively. Fortunately, we’re here to help with some ideas and services as artfully assembled as the ceviche at Los Andes.
Sure we could have stopped at only carrying panels, but that’s really not a lot of fun, now is it. As it happens, the CoFounder of OSS is an Architect/Designer with scads of experience in the restaurant space! What does that mean for you? It means we can do a complete custom installation, as opposed to the ‘pre-cut one size doesn’t fit all’ models. We also can provide consultations on air-flow and filtration systems. If you think panels are enough in ‘the new normal’, unfortunately, you’re likely mistaken. For the restaurants who want to extend their outdoor dining? We can provide customized treated flexible panels which are totally mobile!
We’re going to be doing a giveaway next week specifically created to complement our hospitality friends hard work. Remember to #shoplocal and #supportsmallbusiness as we #reopenri
See you next week!
Stay safe and rock on. We’ve got you covered.
