Happy Labor Day 2021, everyone! We hope you all enjoyed the Summer, despite the rain. It was a much needed respite for so many local businesses. Staffing shortages aside, we know we were out supporting small business over the Summer, and know you were too. 

But unlike the mosquito invasion which just will NOT go away, our warm weather is on the way back out and it’s time to get ready for Fall and Winter. The Delta Variant certainly threw a curveball into a lot of reopening plans, and when the weather turns, corralling your customers indoors poses its own set of challenges. Vaccine checkpoints prior to entry? It’s a real possibility if you’re following NY, CA, NV and several other States. This is no time to get lazy. It’s also no time to throw in the towel. 

2020 and 2021 has been QUITE a ride for Ocean State Shields! Some highlights:

  • We won RI Monthly’s ‘Best of RI’ for our Pandemic Pivots
  • OSS is now ‘Historically Relevant’ as we’re being inducted into the Rhode Island State Archives for Innovation. If anyone had told me a 1 yr old company would achieve that, I’d have said not a chance. 
  • Ocean State Shields has been accepted into a highly competitive and very prestigious global accelerator, NewChip. This positions us for investments between 1-10 mil in 2022. 
  • National e-commerce contracts are in place

We’re kicking some ass, and we’re pretty excited for the future. We’re also partnering up with a very cool local manufacturer Texturein3D. If you don’t know who they are, check them out. Version 3.0 of the Shell-tech Igloo is about to launch. 

So what’s coming up? We’re back at it full force. Igloos etc are in production and headed out beginning this week. For some of our customers and local businesses, you now have payment plan options.
