The wheels of innovation turn slowly, but the wheels of bureaucracy in Rhode Island are greased and spinning quickly!

This should surprise no one. We didn’t get the ‘Most corrupt little State in the Union’ moniker by being exemplary. But in spite of the now interminably long pandemic protocol we’re mostly all trying to adhere to, we’ve got some cause for concern from a public health perspective.

If you happened to read the story on the Turnto10.com website, it seems like an upbeat piece about how restaurants are planning on ramping up outdoor dining for as long as possible. To the untrained eye, it seems like a great idea — and it actually IS a great idea! But we’ve made some observations which will likely prove problematic for eateries as the months wear on.

See those tents above? They’re nice, right? Thick and sturdy, they’re designed to retain all the heat those portable heaters can dish out. There’s only one problem, there’s also not adequate ventilation and circulation of fresh air. So, in many ways, you may as well just go inside since the risk factor is potentially the same. Depending on how your favorite go-to restaurant has set up their tents, heaters, and if they’ve taken into account proper ventilation – you may be nestled in a nice chilly cocoon of pathogens. And that’s really not appetizing.

So what’s a cold diner to do? That’s simple, recommend installing Lumenate panels to your local restaurateurs. They’re better quality, antimicrobial, and more affordable than those ‘tents’ popping up all over RI and MA. We can even match the interior aesthetic, so it will almost be like pre-pandemic dining days! We’re calling it upping your ‘Restaurant Emotional Health’ or R/E/H … and Rhode Island and Massachusetts businesses are definitely in need of a rehab period if they want to survive past 2020. Onward and Cheers, everyone!
